The Thorfinnøyane are a group of small islands 8 km off the coast of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . They are between Campbell Head and Cape Simpson .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named them, mapped them using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 . It is named after the Norwegian whaling ship Thorfinn , which operated in the waters around this archipelago between 1933 and 1934.
