Thormesis is a German post black metal band from Rothenburg ob der Tauber .

history

Thormesis was founded in 2006 in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Travos, Keltor and Hagolt (bass) formed the origin of the band. After a short time Velsir and Berucas joined them. The first publication, "Go there and fight", was published in 2008 in self-production. Thormesis signed a contract with Düsterwald Productions and released their second album "Past Asche" in 2010. With the follow-up album "Von Leere und Tod", in 2012 (AFM Records), the genre has changed more into the Black Metal area. After a rather inactive phase from 2013 to 2014, the band returned to the stage in 2015 with a new line-up, a new album, new music and a new album. The album "Freier Wille - Freier Geist" was released on February 20, 2015 under MDD Records and combines Black Metal with classic Rock'n'Roll elements. In 2017 (February 10th) Thormesis released their fifth studio album "Trümmerfarben", which many consider to be a logical consequence of "Free Will - Free Spirit". 2019 will be the year Thormesis will focus on live concerts. They are also presenting their new album with English titles for the first time. Corresponding to the sixth work, the 2019 album is entitled "The Sixth".

style

The style is extreme metal with post rock influences, which is characterized by dynamic rhythm changes. Initially, Germanic - pagan motifs were dealt with in the texts, while the more recent publications only deal with interpersonal and philosophical topics.
