Thorndale is a census-designated place (CDP) in the Caln Township in Chester County in the southeast of the US -amerikanischen state of Pennsylvania .
The area is 4.7 km² (1.8 square miles) and had a population of 3561 (2000). The place is on the Philadelphia to Harrisburg Main Line and has a train stop for the regional trains of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), whose R5 line has its western terminus there.
