Three Horses Beer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Three Horses Beer (better known as THB (in French pronunciation) is a lager beer that has been brewed by the Star brewery in Madagascar since 1958 . It is considered a national beer and is one of two local beers with a nationwide distribution. The second is Skol , made by the Nouvelle Brasserie de Madagascar (NBM). The other two Madagascan beers, Queen's, are barely distributed and Gold is mediocre.

In addition to Madagascar, THB is also sold in Mayotte , Réunion and the Comoros . There are now also importers in Switzerland and France .

It is sold in small 0.33l and large 0.65l amber glass bottles throughout Madagascar, including in smaller shops. An export version of THB is available in 0.33l aluminum cans. In addition to the mostly sold Pilsener with 5.4% alcohol, THB is also available as “Lite” and “Fresh” with 1% and “Special” with 6.2% alcohol.

The brewery is a sponsor of the Malagasy football league, the THB Champions League .

The logo shows three horses based on the beer of the Dutch brewery "Brouwerij Drie Hoefijzers", which was brewed until 1968.
