Thriller is a 43-part British television series produced by ATV between 1973 and 1976 . The author and inventor of the series was Brian Clemens , who used the simplest means to create great tension in the episodes, each of which was self-contained. Some of them were also pilot films from unrealized series.

concept

The basic principle was mostly the variation of a classic criminal substance in a new guise. The range went beyond everything that the thriller genre has to offer: from crime thrillers to horror films to the supernatural. The series had six seasons and was primarily a studio production. Producer Clemens pursued the concept of showing no violence and no sex. Rather, the tension should arise from the events. There was no continuous plot and series character, each of the 65-minute stories was self-contained.

occupation

Numerous well-known British actors appeared in the series; in order to be able to market the series better internationally, American guest stars also appeared in most of the episodes.

The actors included Helen Mirren , Richard Todd , Anton Diffring , Edd Byrnes , Dinsdale Landen , Bradford Dillman , Donna Mills , Joanna Pettet , Pamela Franklin , Robert Bowell , Francesca Annis , Robert Lang .

The music for the series was composed by Laurie Johnson .
