Heinrich Brockmann

Heinrich Adolph Christian Brockmann (born  February 23, 1820 in Parchim ; †  March 10, 1858 in Neustadt i. Meckl. ) Was a German doctor .

He studied medicine at the universities of Jena , Berlin , Würzburg and Rostock , where he received his doctorate in 1846 . He then worked as a general practitioner in Neustadt in Mecklenburg until his death . From October 1850 he was married to Christine Helene Luise Kittel, the daughter of Pastor Johann Jakob Christian Kittel in Spornitz .

In his dissertation entitled “De Pancreate Piscium” he described anatomical structures from endocrine tissue in the bullhead species Cottus scorpius and the cod species Gadus callarias , which occur in most bony fish and are named after him as Brockmann's body .
