Oskar Eduard Schüppel (born August 10, 1837 in Dresden , † August 26, 1881 in Bad Serneus ) was Professor of Medicine at the University of Tübingen .

Life

Oskar Schüppel was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. In 1866 he became an assistant at the Pathological-Anatomical Institute and private lecturer at the University of Leipzig , and in 1867 he became an associate professor for pathological anatomy and general pathology and clinical prosector in Tübingen. In 1868 he received the title and rank of full professor and in 1869 a full professor without at that time already Ordinariate would be present was that was requested again until the 1870th In 1876/77 he was rector of the University of Tübingen.

Honors

In 1873 he was elected a member of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina .

Writings and works

His lecture on special pathological anatomy, which he gave in the summer semester of 1872 and winter semester 1872/1873 , has been preserved as a transcript by one of his students, Otto Faber .
