The Thulla Cove is a small cove on the west coast of Signy Iceland in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It is located south of Thulla Point .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1990 based on the naming of the neighboring headland of the same name . It is named after the Norwegian steamer Thulla , which was used between 1911 and 1912 in the waters around the southern Orkney Islands to search for suitable anchorages for factory ships for whaling .
