The Thulla Point is a headland on the west coast of Signy Iceland in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It is located 1.5 km northeast of Jebsen Point .
Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations carried out a rough survey in 1933. This was done in more detail in 1947 by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the headland in 1954 after the Norwegian steamer Thulla , which was used between 1911 and 1912 in the waters around the South Orkney Islands in search of suitable anchorages for factory ships for whaling .
