The Kalamas ( modern Greek Καλαμάς , ancient Greek Θύαμις Thyamis , Albanian Lumi i Kalamajt , 'river of children') is a 115 km long river in Greece that flows through the regional districts of Ioannina and Thesprotia in the Epirus region .
It has its source in the Pindos Mountains and, after 115 km of the river, flows into the Valtos Bay of the Ionian Sea about 10 km northwest of the town of Igoumenitsa . The river is at times a popular destination for fishermen.
