Thymus ocheus is a plant type from the genus of thyme ( Thymus ) in the family of Labiatae . According to R. Govaerts, the taxon is better Thymus longicaulis subsp. chaubardii (Rchb.f.) to name Jalas .

Thymus ocheus is a small shrub that forms long, creeping and woody stems that do not carry flowers, on which there are tufts of deciduous leaves in the armpits and up to 10 cm long flower-bearing stems. On the flower-bearing stems there are groups of small leaves at the base. The stems are hairy all around or on two opposite sides. The leaves are usually up to 13 mm long and 3 to 4 mm wide. They are elliptical to lanceolate and leathery. The side veins are clearly defined, one edge vein is missing.
The inflorescences are spherical to slightly cylindrical. The bracts resemble the foliage leaves. The calyx is 3 to 4 mm long, mostly green in color, the upper lip is longer than the calyx tube, the upper teeth are about 1 mm long and usually ciliate. The crown is about 6 mm long and pale pink.
Occurrence and locations
The species occurs in the mountains of Greece and Macedonia .
