Tiamiou Adjibadé

Tiamiou Adjibadé (born July 15, 1937 in Porto-Novo , French Dahomey ; † September 12, 2006 ) was a diplomat and politician of the Republic of Dahomey and the People's Republic of Benin , who was Benin’s Foreign Minister between 1982 and 1984 .

Life

Tiamiou Adjibadé graduated from the Faculty of Law at Dakar University and then entered the service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Dahomey . Between 1961 and 1970 he was Director of the Department for International Organizations and Technical Assistance, and from 1970 to 1973 Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He then was permanent representative to the United Nations and ambassador to the United States between 1973 and 1975 , before he was ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany from 1975 to 1981 .

After his return, he replaced Simon Ifede Ogouma as Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of Benin in 1982 and held this ministerial office until 1984, when Frédéric Affo succeeded him.
