Tianjin FAW Xiali Automobile was a Chinese automobile manufacturer based in Tianjin .
prehistory
From 1965 or earlier there was Tianjin Auto Works with the Tianjin brand. This was followed by Tianjin Mini Auto Works in 1986 or 1987 and Tianjin Automotive Xiali with the Xiali brand in 1997 .
history
In 2002, China FAW Group took over Tianjin Automobile Xiali and chose the new company name Tianjin FAW Xiali Automobile. However, the date of establishment is August 28, 1997. The production of automobiles was continued, but now under the brand name FAW (for First Automotive Works) with the suffix Tianjin and the model name Xiali for some models.
In 2020 it was taken over by Future Mobility Corporation , manufacturer of Byton vehicles .
Model overview
The Xiali model series was based on the Daihatsu Charade . The type designations TJ 7101 , TJ 7111 , TJ 7131 and TJ 7141 have been handed down. Some vehicles were hatchbacks, others were notchbacks. In addition, vehicles were created under a license from Toyota Platz and Toyota Vitz . Wizi are named as CA 7106 and CA 7136 and Vela as CA 7156 . This applies to the period up to and including model year 2005.
For the model year 2008 the following models are named:
- Xiali Junya A + as TJ 7101 , TJ 7111 , TJ 7131 and TJ 7141 A based on Daihatsu Charade with hatchback
- Xiali Shenya A + as TJ 7101 AU , TJ 7111 AU and TJ 7131 AU on the same base with notchback
- Xiali N 3+ as TJ 7101 B , TJ 7111 B , TJ 7131 B , TJ 7131 BU and TJ 7141 , which was supposed to replace the two aforementioned models, but was produced in parallel for a certain period of time (also called the B series because of the final letter )
- Vizi (also called Vitz and Weizhi ) as CA 7106 and CA 7136 based on the Toyota Yaris
- Vela (also called Weile ) as CA 7156 U and CA 7166 as the successor to the Yaku
- Weizhi 3 (also called C 1 ) as CA 7130 , CA 7140 , CA 7150 U , CA 7160 and CA 7160 U as hatchback and notchback, which was presented as a prototype in 2005 and produced from October 2006
- Vita TFC-M 1 was presented as a notchback in 2008 and should be manufactured from 2009
- Vita TFC-M 2 was the same model with a hatchback
- Vita H 1 was presented in 2008 as a prototype with a notchback
- Vita W with hatchback was presented in April 2008 and should go into production in the first half of 2009
The FAW Tianjin Xiali N5 appeared in 2009 and the FAW Tianjin Xiali N7 in 2013 .
