Tianyige Library

The Tianyige Library or Tianyi Pavilion , etc. ( Chinese  天一阁 , Pinyin Tiānyī gé ) in Ningbo (the ancient Yin 鄞县 district) west of the Moon Lake ( Yue Hu ) in the Chinese province of Zhejiang is one in the 16th century in Famous Chinese library built by Fan Qin范钦 in the Ming Dynasty for his private collection. The oldest private library building still in existence in China was built in 1561 . After an eventful fate, his collection now houses over 300,000 volumes, 80,000 of which are rarities, especially from the Ming Dynasty. In the collective work Sibu Congkan, for example, several Mingzeit prints from the collection are reproduced.

The Tianyige Library ( Tianyi ge ) has been on the List of Monuments of the People's Republic of China (2-31) since 1982 .
