The Tiber Rocks are a group of small rock islands off the Fallières coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . They are located at the head end of Rymill Bay near the west side of the confluence of Romulus Glacier and 5 km northwest of the highest peak of Black Thumb .
Participants in the British Graham Land Expedition (1934–1937), led by the Australian polar explorer John Rymill , sighted them for the first time and carried out a rough survey in 1936. The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out a new survey between 1948 and 1949 and named the rocks after the Tiber , the largest river in Rome, based on the naming of the Romulus and Remus glaciers .
