Tibor Scitovsky

Tibor de Scitovsky or Tibor (von) Scitovsky (* 1910 in Budapest ; † June 1, 2002 ) was an American economist . He was best known for his publications on the relationship between people's satisfaction and their economic consumption . He taught from 1946 to 1958 at Stanford University , where he was "Eberle Professor of Economics" from 1970 until his retirement in 1976. In 1966 he was in the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and in 1981 as a corresponding member of the British Academy elected .
