Tical 2000: Judgment Day is the second studio album by the American rapper Method Man . It was released on November 16, 1998 in Germany and on November 17, 1998 in the United States. The album was released on the Def Jam label and reached number 2 on the Billboard 200 charts.

background

Method Man became known through his membership in the American hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan . He developed into one of the most prominent members of the clan and was signed in 1994 as a solo artist with the Def Jam label . There Method Man released his debut album Tical , of which 1.7 million units were sold. In the following years, the rapper continued to work with the Wu-Tang Clan and other artists, completed a world tour and became the father of two children. Eventually Method Man began work on his second studio album. The musician's goal was to make a better product than Tical , with which the rapper was not completely satisfied. Method Man finally sold 1.5 million copies of his second album.

Hip-hop musicians RZA , LB Da Life Bringa, True Master, 4th Disciple, Inspectah Deck , Prince Paul, Qur'an Goodman & Trackmasters, Erick Sermon , Havoc , Allah Mathematics and Method Man themselves were involved in the production of the album . Wu Tang Clan member RZA produced the tracks Perfect World , Suspect Chin Music and Retro Godfather . The songs Dangerous Grounds , Sweet Love , Torture , Party Crasher , Grid Iron Rap and Killin 'Fields were contributed by True Master. Qur'an Goodman and Trackmasters also produced Break Ups 2 Make Ups .

Method Man himself was involved in the production through the songs Judgment Day (intro) and Judgment Day . The musician 4th Disciple appears as the producer of Shaolin What (Skit) and as co-producer of the piece Judgment Day . The beat of the track Cradle Rock was provided by LB Da Life Bringa and the background music for the track You Play Too Much by Prince Paul. Two songs were produced by Inspectah Deck.
