Tim Page
Tim Page (born May 24, 1944 in Tunbridge Wells , Great Britain ) is a photographer and war journalist who became known for his reports and pictures about the Vietnam War .
life and work
Page left his home in 1962 and worked for USAID in Laos . During this time he worked as a freelance photographer for the news agencies United Press International and Agence France-Presse . He reported on various wars and crises in Asia and the Six Day War . He was wounded several times during frontline operations. His intensive drug use made him famous among international war correspondents. The character of a journalist in the Vietnam War played by Dennis Hopper in the film Apocalypse Now was significantly influenced by Page.
He now lives in Australia and is a founding member of the Australia Collective Agency, short name DegreeSouth. He lives in Brisbayne and is a professor at Griffith University .
