Tim Staffel (born October 2, 1965 in Kassel ) is a German writer , theater director and director of radio plays .

Life

Tim Staffel studied applied theater studies with Andrzej Wirth in Giessen until 1991 and has lived in Berlin since 1993. He received a scholarship from the Alfred Döblin Foundation in Berlin.

Since completing his studies, he has worked as a freelance writer, director, columnist and dramaturge. He writes novels, short stories, radio plays and plays.

His novel Terrordrom was dramatized by Frank Castorf for the Volksbühne Berlin in the year of publication . In 2005 Staffel edited the play Solaris on behalf of the Nuremberg State Theater based on the novel by Stanisław Lem . The radio play Added Value, produced in 2006 for WDR , which describes the situation of a Hartz 4 recipient, was nominated in 2007 for the Radio Play Prize of the Academy of Arts .
