Timaeus is an impact crater on the moon to the north of the lunar front on the northern edge of Mare Frigoris , southwest of the crater plane of W. Bond and northwest of Archytas .
The relatively young crater shows hardly any eroded edges and has a central mountain .
The crater was named by the IAU in 1935 after the Greek astrologer Timaios .
