The Timan-Pechora oil field ( Russian Тимано-Печорское месторождение ) is an oil field located in a sedimentary basin in northern Russia . It is located between the Pechora Sea , as the southeastern part of the Barents Sea between the islands of Kolgujew and Waigach is also called, and the Timan Ridge . The development of the field was decided in the mid-1990s. Conoco and Lukoil jointly develop the oil field.

production

In recent years, production in the region has been steadily expanded (see table). In 2011 Lukoil accounted for 19.3 percent (2009: 22.2 percent) of its total oil production in the region. This makes the region the second most important production region for Lukoil after Western Siberia (54.0 percent). However, the output fell in 2011 by over 17 percent. Larger investments in new conveyor technology such as Lukoil you z. B. in Western Siberia are necessary to maintain high funding rates in the future. Increased importance is now also attached to the production of natural gas. In 2016, production was increased by 180 million m³ to 980 million m³ of natural gas compared to 2015.
