Time (band)

Time was a Yugoslav rock group formed by Dado Topić in 1971 after he left his previous band Korni grupa .

Career

In addition to Topić, the original line-up consisted of Tihomir Pop Asanović ( organ ), Vedran Božić ( guitar ), Mario Mavrin ( bass ), Ratko Divjak ( drums ) and Brane Lambert Živković ( piano and flute ). Time played in frequently changing line-ups and broke up after three albums and many tours in late 1977 when Dado Topić started his solo career. It wasn't until 1998 and 2001 that the band got back together to play a few live concerts, and continues as a trio to this day.

Time played progressive rock influenced by jazz . While their first album was dominated by Hammond organ , piano and flute, the successor Time II was characterized on the one hand by a harder sound, but on the other hand was also characterized by ballads . The third album was again heavily influenced by funk . Well-known titles included Da li znaš da te volim , Rock 'n' roll u Beogradu , Istina mašina .
