Timo Friedmann (born December 20, 1973 ) is a German journalist who focuses on topics related to cars and the State of Israel . He has been editor-in-chief of the online editorial team at Motor-Talk.de since May 2012 and currently lives and works in Berlin. Motor-Talk.de is a German-language website on the subject of mobility operated by mobile.de GmbH based in Kleinmachnow-Dreilinden.

Life

From May 1996 Friedmann volunteered at the editorial offices of “Auto Magazin”, “Fernfahrer” and “4Wheel Fun” in Feldkirchen-Westerham. From May 1998 he then worked as an editor for the specialist magazine “das neue automobil” in Schwabach. In October 2001 Friedmann switched to Bild am Sonntag . He worked for Bild und Bild am Sonntag for ten years , most recently as the responsible editor. Among other things , he was jointly responsible for the organization and implementation of the event “ The Golden Steering Wheel ”, Europe's most important automobile award.

In 2004 he initiated the project “Bild am Sonntag Middle East Youth Summit”, in which young people from Israel, Palestine and Jordan discussed the situation in the Middle East in front of 500 guests at Axel Springer Verlag. As editor-in-chief for this unique project he was responsible for the special edition of the English-language magazine "Crossing Borders".

In 2010 and 2011 Timo Friedmann was a member of the jury for the “Golden Steering Wheel”.

Motor-Talk.de

In May 2012 he moved from Axel Springer Verlag to Motor-Talk.de. As editor-in-chief, he expanded the editorial team and promoted the professionalization of the newsroom. After his team had now consisted of up to nine employees, it was announced in November that all of his employees would be fired. With the professionalization, the homepage was revised and relaunched. According to an evaluation by the Online Research Association (AGOF), Motor-Talk.de had 4.3 million unique users in June 2014 . The IVW certifies that the platform had around 16 million visits and around 50 million Pls for June 2014.

Private

Friedmann has a daughter and three sisters. His paternal grandparents were killed in the Holocaust.
