Timo Kirschstein
Timo Kirschstein (* 1974 in Simmern / Hunsrück ) is a German physiologist .
Life
After graduating from the Herzog-Johann-Gymnasium in 1993, he studied human medicine at the University of Mainz from 1993 to 1999 and then until 2000 at the University of Bonn . From 2000 to 2001 he was an intern at the Clinic for Epileptology at the University of Bonn. After obtaining his license to practice medicine in 2002, he was a research assistant at the Clinic for Epileptology at the University of Bonn from 2002 to 2005 . From 2005 to 2009 he was a research assistant, after his habilitation ( studies on hippocampal synaptic plasticity and metaplasticity in the pilocarpine model of temporal lobe epilepsy ) from 2010 to 2017 private lecturer at the Institute for Physiology of the University of Rostock for the subject Physiology of the University of Rostock . He has been an adjunct professor at this facility since 2017 .
