Timon (deacon)

Timon (* in the 1st century BC or in the 1st century ; † in the 1st century) was one of the seven deacons who were responsible for the service as a deacon and the care of the parishioners in the Jerusalem early church ( Acts 6, 1  EU ff.) According to tradition, Timon later evangelized in Aleppo and then traveled to Corinth via Cyprus . Here he suffered the martyrdom of the crucifixion .

Timon is venerated as a saint in the Catholic and Orthodox Churches ; the common feast day of the seven deacons is July 28th .
