Tina Kordic

Tina Kordić (born June 30, 1972 in Travnik ) is an Austrian pianist and piano teacher of Bosnian origin.

Life

Tina Kordić received her first piano lessons at the age of six at the music school in Sarajevo . At the age of 12 she won first prize at the national competition in Travnik. She continued her music education at the music high school in Sarajevo with Meira Smailovic . From 1990 she studied at the Music Academy in Sarajevo, majoring in piano concert with Aleksandra Romanić , from 1992 with Neda Stankovic. In December 1994 she enrolled as a scholarship holder of the Austrian Ministry for Education and Cultural Affairs at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in the class of Manfred Wagner-Artzt and passed the diploma examination with distinction in 1999. With a scholarship from the Austrian Ministry of Science and Transport, she completed her post-graduate studies with Leonore Aumaier at the same university and in 2005 received the academic degree Magistra der Künste ( Magistra artium) ; Title of the master's thesis The History of Ballet in Sarajevo .

In 1987 she played her first solo concert at the Sarajevo Winter Festival. She took part in various master classes, among others with Arbo Valdma , David Wilde and Vladimir Krpan . Her commitment to the preservation of cultural life in besieged Sarajevo during the war (1992–1995) was significant by taking part in almost all piano concerts, such as: Chopin marathon, Mozart evenings, solo concerts in the chamber theater and production recordings for the state broadcaster from Bosnia and Herzegovina (then RTVBiH, now RTVFBiH ).

During her studies in Vienna and afterwards she played numerous concerts in Austria, Germany, the former Yugoslavia and China. Her debut with the Sarajevo Philharmonic in February 2000 at the National Theater in Sarajevo, as well as solo concerts in Sarajevo in 2001, 2004 and 2007 were broadcast on the state television of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the 2005/2006 academic year she represented the Vienna Conservatory in the United Kingdom and taught piano as a guest lecturer at the Music University in Weifang. In July 2006 she returned to Vienna.
