Tinchlik is a city (shahar) in the Oltiariq district of the Uzbek province Fargʻona in the Fergana Valley .

The city is located about 25 km west of the provincial capital Fargʻona and borders directly to the north on the district capital Oltiariq . The Oltiariq station on the Qo'qon - Marg'ilon line of the Uzbek Railways ( O'zbekiston Temir Yo'llari ) is located in Tinchlik. The Great Ferghana Canal flows through the city .

Originally the place was named Wannowski after the Russian general Pyotr Semjonowitsch Wannowski . In 1963 he was named after the Uzbek poet Hamza Hakimzade Niyazi in Hamza , renamed by 2012 it acquired its current name. In 1974 Hamza was given city status. According to the 1989 population census, the city had 10,644 inhabitants, according to a calculation for 2005, the population was 12,928.
