Tinga Tinga Fables (original title: Tinga Tinga Tales) is a British animated series that was produced between 2010 and 2011 .

The series tries to explain more complex facts and phenomena from the animal world to young viewers in a child-friendly manner. She does this by having animals tell old African folk tales. She was inspired by traditional African animal stories and Tanzanian art.

Production and publication

The series was produced in the UK from 2010 to 2011. This resulted in 2 seasons and 52 episodes. The series itself is based on the Tingatinga painting and the drawings are handmade and later animated.

Directed by Richard Jeffery. On screenwriter Bruce Hobson, Bridget Hurst, Judy Kibinge, Claudia Lloyd and Anna Starkey involved. Homeboyz Entertainment, Tiger Aspect Productions Limited and Classic Media Distribution Limited were responsible for production. Eric Wainaina was responsible for the music .

The German premiere took place on January 20, 2014 on KiKA .
