Yakov Fyodorovich Savchenko
Yakov Fyodorovich Savchenko ( Russian Яков Фёдорович Савченко ; Ukrainian Яків Федорович Савченко / Jakiw Fedorowytsch Savchenko born October 23, jul. / 5. November 1913 greg. In Iwot , Ujesd Novhorod-Siverskyi ; † 26. September 1984 in Biysk ) was a Ukrainian - Soviet chemist .
Life
Savchenko was the son of a poor peasant family and his youth were overshadowed by the Russian Civil War . Savchenko studied at Chemically -Technologischen pilot Schostka with completion in 1932 and then worked in Sverdlov - chemical plant in Dzerzhinsk . There he rose to become vice director. During the German-Soviet War he was involved in the supply of ammunition. In 1949 he became director of the chemical plant in Pavlohrad . In 1951 he completed a mechanical engineering degree from the Leningrad Industrial Institute. From 1954 to 1959 he managed the important ammunition factory in Cheboksary .
In 1959, Savchenko became director of the newly organized and defense research institute No. 9 in Biysk , which in 1969 became the Altai Research Institute of Chemical Technology. Under his leadership, the institute became a research and development center for fuels and explosives , the so-called high energy materials , and for plastics . In 1967 he received his doctorate as a candidate in chemical sciences . In 1980 he was appointed professor. After his death in 1984, Gennady Sakovich was his successor. Since 2010, the Altai Institute has been a joint stock company with a much expanded production spectrum within the joint stock company Moskowski Institut Teplotechniki (MIT) (Moscow Institute for Thermal Engineering ), which builds missile systems .
Savchenko initiated and promoted the construction of sports and cultural facilities in Biysk. A Titov monument can also be traced back to him. The construction of a swimming stadium was interrupted by his death. A children's home for technical work bears his name. There are busts of Savchenko in Bijsk in the Leonida Garkawowo Park and in front of the Altai Institute and in his birthplace.
