Thermal engineering

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The heating technology is the subsection within the engineering sciences , specifically the energy technology that deals with heat ( thermal energy employed) in technical applications. The main content is the generation, storage and transfer of heat on a technical scale:

On the fundamental side, thermal engineering touches on physics , thermodynamics , fluid mechanics , combustion technology ( combustion ), electrical engineering ( electrical heating ) and chemistry ( thermochemistry ), and on the technical application side, process engineering (in particular thermal process engineering and the Energy process engineering ) and apparatus engineering (particularly heat exchangers , ovens , steam boilers, etc.). Special applications in heating technology are refrigeration technology and thermal insulation . The intersection with energy technology is the heat and power coupling .
