Okilani Tinilau (born January 2, 1989 ) is a Tuvaluan athlete and football player . His special disciplines in athletics are the sprint and the long jump .

Career

Tinilau was a member of the three-man Tuvaluan squad when his country first took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008. On August 15, 2008, he competed in the 100 meter run. He finished last, but improved the national record over this distance with 11.48 seconds.

The following year he represented his country at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin.

Tinilau also plays soccer for Manu Laeva FC and the Tuvaluan national soccer team .
