Tino Kolitscher
Tino Kolitscher (born April 14, 1975 in Halle an der Saale ) is a German disabled athlete .
Career
Tino Kolitscher comes from Halle an der Saale. In order to practice competitive sports, he became a member of HRV Böllberg / Nelson . First he tried basketball , then athletics . As his visual impairment worsened and eventually led to blindness , he could no longer practice these sports and therefore switched to rowing . Within the rowing sport, he rowed both in a four-man with a helmsman and in a double scull .
Because of his good rowing performance, he was appointed to the German rowing team for the disabled and used in international competitions. He took part in the World Rowing Championships and Paralympic Games in his starting class LTA VI. At the 2014 World Championships he was fourth in a four-man team and seventh at the 2015 World Championships.
The highlight of his career was participating in the 2012 Paralympic Summer Games . In these games he and the team of the German four came second and thus achieved the silver medal. Kolitscher also took part in the 2016 Paralympic Summer Games , but could not win a medal there and came fourth.
For this success he and the four-man rowing team were awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf by Federal President Joachim Gauck on November 7, 2012 .
