Tinus Osterholt

Tinus Johannes Osterholt (born November 17, 1928 in Schiedam ; † May 15, 2016 ) was a Dutch football player .

Career and life

Osterholt began his career at the age of twelve at Hermes DVS in his hometown of Schiedam. After stints at BVC Rotterdam and Holland Sport , he played from 1955 to 1959 for the first division club Feijenoord in Rotterdam , for which he scored two goals in his 93 league appearances and one more goal in 13 cup games. While he initially played as a left defender , he was later used mainly in midfield on half -left. During this time he was part of the extended squad of the national team , but, unlike his teammates Aad Bak , cameCor van der Gijp , Henk Schouten or Coen Moulijn are not used in the Elftal . After four seasons with Feijenoord, he moved to Leeuwarden to the predecessor club of today's SC Cambuur . He later worked as a trainer in Piershil . In addition to football, he worked as a mechanic at Wilton-Fijenoord for 42 years .

Osterholt died at the age of 87 on Pentecost Sunday 2016 after an operation in which a pacemaker was inserted.
