The route definition for the North Tyrolean State Railroad from the Reich border near Kufstein to Innsbruck was checked and changed personally on site by Carl Ritter von Ghega , who was the head of the General Building Department . For example, the construction of the Innsbruck viaduct can be traced back to him instead of a previously planned embankment.

On April 29, 1853, the construction of the Wörgl –Innsbruck line, and on August 16, 1854, the construction from Kufstein to Wörgl was ordered at state expense.

The entire line was opened on November 24, 1858.

Kk Südtiroler Staatsbahn (Bozen – Verona)

Ghega was also the top construction manager for the South Tyrolean State Railways ( Bozen - Verona route ). The production was directed by Alois Negrelli from Moldelbe .

The Trento – Verona section was opened on March 23, 1859. On May 16, 1859, the section from Bolzano to Trento was opened.
