Titular diocese of Halaesa

Halaesa ( Italian : Alesa ) is a titular bishopric of the Roman Catholic Church .

It goes back to the diocese of the same name, which existed in Halaesa (Italian: Alesa Arconidea) on the Tyrrhenian Sea in northern Sicily in the early Middle Ages . A bishop of Halaesa is recorded as a participant in the Lateran Synod in 649. The submerged diocese was re-established as a titular seat in March 2018 and awarded for the first time in June 2020.
