Titular diocese of Mareotes
Mareotes is a titular bishopric of the Roman Catholic Church .
It goes back to an earlier diocese in the Roman province of Aegyptus or Aegyptus Iovia in the western Nile delta . The diocese belonged to the ecclesiastical province of Alexandria .
