Antonios Aziz Mina (born February 9, 1955 in al-Minya ) is an Egyptian clergyman and emeritus Coptic Catholic Bishop of Giza .

Life

Antonios Aziz Mina was ordained a priest on June 9, 1978 .

On December 19, 2002, the Synod of the Coptic Catholic Church elected him as Curia Bishop in Alexandria . Pope John Paul II confirmed the appointment on December 21 of the same year and appointed him titular bishop of Mareotes . He received his episcopal ordination from the Patriarch of Alexandria, Stephanos II. Cardinal Ghattas CM , on February 13, 2003; Co-consecrators were Morkos Hakim , OFM , Bishop of Sohag , Youhanna Golta , Curia Bishop of Alexandria, Andraos Salama , auxiliary bishop of Alexandria , Cyril Kamal William Samaan , OFM, Bishop of Assiut , Youhannes Ezzat Zakaria Badir , Bishop of Luxor , Makarios Tewfik , Bishop of Ismayliah , Ibrahim Isaac Sidrak , Bishop of Minya , and Antonios Naguib , Bishop Emeritus of Minya.

On December 27, 2005, the Synod of the Coptic Catholic Church elected him Bishop of Giza. Pope Benedict XVI on January 3, 2006 confirmed the appointment. He was inducted into office on January 22, 2006.

Pope Francis resigned from office on January 23, 2017.
