Ibrahim Isaac Sidrak (born August 19, 1955 in Beni-Cliker , Egypt ) is Patriarch of Alexandria of the Coptic Catholic Church united with Rome .

Life

Ibrahim Isaac Sidrak received on 7 February 1980, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On September 29, 2002, the Synod of Bishops of the Coptic Catholic Bishops elected him Bishop of Minya . Pope John Paul II approved his election as Bishop of Minya on October 5, 2002. The Coptic Catholic Patriarch of Alexandria , Stephanos II. Cardinal Ghattas CM , donated him episcopal ordination on November 15 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop Emeritus of Minya, Antonios Naguib , the Bishop of Sohag , Morkos Hakim OFM , the Curia Bishop in the Coptic Catholic Patriarchate of Alexandria, Youhanna Golta , the Auxiliary Bishop in Alexandria , Andraos Salama , the Bishop of Assiut , Kyramaanlos Kamal OFM, the Bishop of Luxor , Youhannes Ezzat Zakaria Badir , and the Bishop of Ismayliah , Makarios Tewfik .

On January 15, 2013 Ibrahim Isaac Sidrak was elected by the Synod of the Coptic Catholic Church in Cairo as Coptic Catholic Patriarch of Alexandria . He also became bishop of the Alexandria eparchy . On January 18, 2013, Pope Benedict XVI granted him as provided for in the CCEO , in a personal letter to the church community (communio) . On March 12, 2013 he was enthroned in the Cathedral of Cairo; historical was the embrace of Patriarch Ibrahim with the Coptic Pope Tawadros II.
