Morkos Hakim

Morkos Hakim OFM (born November 11, 1930 in Abusir ; † August 11, 2014 ) was Bishop of Sohag .

Life

Morkos Hakim joined the Congregation of the Franciscan at and received on 26 June 1955, the priestly ordination .

Pope John Paul II appointed him bishop of the Coptic Catholic eparchy Sohag on May 26, 1982 . He received his episcopal ordination on June 6th of the same year by the Bishop of Assiut , Youhanna Nueir OFM; Co- consecrators were Andraos Ghattas CM , Bishop of Luxor , and Antonios Naguib , Bishop of Minya . On August 9, 2003, Pope John Paul II accepted his early resignation.

Morkos Hakim was involved in the Focolare Movement in Egypt.
