Titular diocese of Narona
Narona has been a titular bishopric of the Roman Catholic Church since 1933 .
There is almost nothing in the traditions about the beginning of Christianity in Narona. A single document reports the participation of a Bishop Marcellus of Narona in two councils in Salona (today's Solin), in 530 and 533. At the Council of Salona in 533, two new parishes were founded from the diocesan area of Naronas, Makarska and Sarsenterum. It goes back to an earlier diocese in the Roman province of Dalmatia or Dalmatia Inferior in the city of Narona , which was assigned to the ecclesiastical province of Salona .
