Titus Prifernius Paetus Memmius Apollinaris (full name form Titus Prifernius Publi filius Quirina Paetus Memmius Apollinaris ) was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 2nd century AD . Individual stations of his career, which he completed towards the end of the 1st and the beginning of the 2nd century, are known through an inscription.

Apollinaris was IIIIvir iure dicundo quinquennalis and magister iuvenum in his hometown . This was followed by his military career, which consisted of the usual tres militiae for a member of the equestrian order . He was first prefect of the Cohors III Breucorum , which was stationed in the province of Germania inferior . Then he was a military tribune in the Legio X Gemina . The third stage was the post of prefect of Ala I Asturum , who was stationed in the province of Moesia inferior . With the Ala he took part in the first Dakar War and received several military awards from Trajan for his achievements : a hasta pura , a vexillum and a corona muralis .

After finishing his military career, Apollinaris took over positions in administration. He was initially procurator in the province of Sicilia ; this post was linked to an annual income of 100,000 sesterces . He then became a procurator in the province of Lusitania ; this post was associated with an annual income of 200,000 sesterces. Subsequently, he was responsible as procurator for the administration of the five percent inheritance tax ( vicesima hereditatium ) in Rome. Most recently he was governor ( Procurator Augusti ), first in the province of Thracia and then in Noricum . He is attested as governor in Noricum by another inscription.

Apollinaris was inscribed in the Quirina tribe . He came from Reate, today's Rieti . The inscription was made by his son, Publius Memmius Publi filius Quirina Apollinaris .
