Tobias Feldmann

Tobias Feldmann (born January 15, 1991 in Fulda ) is a German violinist and music professor.

biography

At the age of eight, Feldmann was accepted into the early intervention class at the Würzburg University of Music and received lessons from Dan Talpan and Herwig Zack. After graduating from high school, he began studying in 2010 at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy with Antje Weithaas .

Feldmann has given solo concerts in collaboration with the Las Vegas Philharmonic Orchestra, the Utah Symphony Orchestra, the Beethoven Orchester Bonn, Brussels Philharmonic, the Orchester Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra, the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, the Bilkent Orchestra Ankara and the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover. His partners at the conductor's desk included u. a. Gilbert Varga, Nicholas Milton, Hannu Lintu, Michel Tabachnik, Isin Metin, Nicolás Pasquet, Paul Meyer and Marin Alsop. 

In 2015 he stepped in with Béla Bartók's 2nd violin concerto for Christian Tetzlaff and played concerts in Latvia and Lithuania with the Federal Youth Orchestra under Karl-Heinz Steffens. In the same year he made his solo debut in the great hall of the Philharmonie Berlin with the Violin Concerto in E minor by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy .

Chamber music also finds its place in Feldmann's work. In various ensemble formations he has made guest appearances at the Schubertiade Hohenems, the Ludwigsburg Castle Festival, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, the Rheingau Music Festival, the Musiq3 Festival in Brussels and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.

As part of a professorship substitute, he taught for two semesters at the University of Music in Würzburg. In 2018 he was appointed professor at the University of Music in Würzburg.

Feldmann plays on a violin by Niccòlo Gagliano , made in Naples in 1769.
