Tobias Gottfried Hegelmaier (born July 30, 1730 in Vaihingen an der Enz ; † April 13, 1786 in Tübingen ) was a German Protestant theologian and superintendent of the Tübingen Foundation as well as professor and prorector at the University of Tübingen .

Life

Tobias Gottfried Hegelmaier was matriculated at the University of Tübingen in 1749, where he got his Bacc. art. and in 1752 Mag. art. He completed a degree in theology. In 1755 he passed the theological exam. He was an informator for Oberamtmann Harpprecht in Tübingen and in 1756 Sousgouverneur and informator for Prince Johann Carl Ludwig Pfalzgraf bei Rhein. From 1758 he was also a repetitionist in Tübingen. In 1761 he was a monastery professor in Bebenhausen . In 1777 he became associate professor for theology in Tübingen (4th chair). He was promoted to Dr. theol. PhD. In 1780 he became a full professor of theology (3rd chair). In 1784/85 he was Vice Rector of the University of Tübingen. His portrait hangs in the professors' gallery in Tübingen .
