Tobias Just (2015)

Tobias Just (born October 5, 1970 in Berlin ) is a German economist and holder of the chair for real estate management at the IREBS International Real Estate Business School at the University of Regensburg, as well as scientific director and managing director of the IREBS Real Estate Academy.

biography

Tobias Just studied economics at the Universities of Hamburg and Uppsala / Sweden. His subsequent doctorate at the Helmut Schmidt University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg on the subject of globalization and ideology was awarded the university's science prize in 2001.

From 2001 to October 2011 Tobias Just worked as a Senior Economist at Deutsche Bank Research ; since the beginning of 2008 he has been in charge of the industry and property market analysis.

Tobias Just did regular teaching assignments at the Technical University of Berlin and at the IREBS Real Estate Academy. In 2006 Tobias Just was a Research Fellow at the American Institute of Contemporary German Studies at Johns Hopkins University in Washington DC. In 2010 he received his habilitation with the font Demography and Real Estate at the TU Berlin.

Tobias Just has held the Chair of Real Estate Management at the IREBS International Real Estate Business School at the University of Regensburg since 2011, as well as the Scientific Director and Managing Director of the IREBS Real Estate Academy.

From 2012 to 2015 he was a member of the board of the Corporate Governance Initiative of the German Real Estate Industry

Since 2012 he has been a member of the Executive Management Committee of the Urban Land Institute Germany. Tobias Just joined the jury for the innovation award of the German Council of Shopping Centers eV in 2013. In addition to his work as a professor, Tobias Just has been President of the gif Society for Real Estate Research eV and editor of the ZIÖ magazine for real estate economics since 2015 . From 2013 to 2015 he was Vice President of gif eV

Between 2015 and 2018, Tobias Just was also a member of the Presidium of the ZIA Zentraler Immobilienausschuss eV Since November 2016, Tobias Just has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Helaba Invest Kapitalanlagegesellschaft mbH.

  • 2017: Honorary appointment as Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS) by the RICS.
  • 2015: FAZ economists ranking 2015: Germany's most influential economists, 93rd place
  • 2013: Immobilienmanager Award in the "Head of the Year" category
  • 2001: Award of the doctorate at the Helmut Schmidt University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg on the subject of "Globalization and Ideology" with the university's science award
