The IRE | BS International Real Estate Business School is part of the Economics Faculty of the University of Regensburg . The IRE | BS comprises ten law and economics chairs and professorships as well as 15 honorary and visiting professorships. At the Eltville, Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich, Düsseldorf and Hamburg locations, IREBS offers further training for young managers and specialists.

On the initiative of the Regensburg building contractor Johann Vielberth , the Institute for Real Estate Management was founded at the University of Regensburg in 2003. With the change of the personalities responsible for the Department of Real Estate at the EBS University of Economics and Law to include Karl-Werner Schulte, the University of Regensburg has been bundling its related activities under the umbrella of the International Real Estate Business School (IREBS) since 2006. Since then, the institute has been continuously expanded with the addition of many new members.

Bachelor courses (BSc)

The Faculty of Economics at the University of Regensburg has been offering a bachelor's degree ( business administration or economics ) with a focus on real estate or real estate economics since the 2005/2006 winter semester . At the University of Regensburg, selected students have the opportunity to acquire specific subject-specific qualifications within six semesters and obtain a bachelor's degree (Bachelor of Science - BSc) with a focus on real estate management.

The bachelor's degree is a fully modularized course that is adapted to the ECTS guidelines . The standard period of study of six semesters (full-time study) is divided into two phases of three semesters each with a volume of 180 ECTS. Depending on the course of study (business administration / economics), business management (real estate management) or economic (real estate economics) aspects relating to real estate can be systematically deepened.

Masters course (MScRE)

The Real Estate Master’s program is a full-time course and, in its conception, initially focuses on teaching in a common compulsory module and then in individual focus modules as elective modules. As part of the options, there are a total of 3 elective modules with a focus on real estate, each with 4 courses to choose from, of which 2 modules are to be chosen.

The elective modules include the main modules:

  • Real Estate Development and Management
  • Real Estate and Regional Economics

The focus on "Real Estate Investment & Finance" includes courses in real estate banking, real estate valuation and accounting, real estate investment and a business administration course in the area of ​​corporate finance. The focus on "Real Estate Development & Management" includes courses in real estate development, real estate management, commercial real estate and a business administration course in the field of product & supply chain management. The focus on "Real Estate & Regional Economics" includes the courses in real estate economics, regional economics, urban development and an economics course in one of the areas of financial economics or empirical economics.

The real estate master's program concludes with a compulsory research module, which consists of a seminar or project seminar and a master's thesis.

The integration of a stay abroad in the 2nd and / or 3rd semester is possible. The examination results obtained abroad are recognized in Regensburg. Cooperation agreements have been concluded with selected international universities (e.g. Reading, Hong Kong, Florida) so that a double degree is possible. This means that the master’s program is not only interdisciplinary, but also international.
