Tobias Schuffenhauer

Tobias Egbert August Emmanuel Schuffenhauer (born September 15, 1982 in Leverkusen ) is a German radio editor, presenter, and audio book and radio play speaker. In addition, he is also the author of the new books and radio plays for the German Christian youth series 5 Geschwister . Schuffenhauer is also the founder and managing director of the Wetzlar audio production company TOS-Hörfabrik, which he runs together with his colleague and director Tobias Schier.

Life

Tobias Schuffenhauer grew up in Leverkusen and attended the Marienschule Opladen up to the tenth grade . In 1998 he moved to Giessen , where he passed his Abitur in 2002 at the August Hermann Francke School . Even during his school days he was part of the "radio talents" that still run today as "radio starters". He completed a degree in musicology at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen, which he broke off after two semesters. Then he started as a trainee at ERF Medien eV in Wetzlar. In 2004 he was largely responsible for setting up the youth radio station CrossChannel.de , which was discontinued in 2014 under his direction. Afterwards, he was responsible for the relaunch of ERF Pop as the program development department manager . In 2015 he finally took over as head of the station ERF Plus . He has been married since 2012 and lives near Wetzlar in Central Hesse.

Radio plays

In 2007 Schuffenhauer founded the audio production company TOS-Hörfabrik with his colleague Tobias Schier. They self-published six episodes of the children's crime series Die Junior-Detektiven , in which he also speaks the role of Johannes Jeckenrad, as well as various radio plays for adults in which he can also be heard in a few supporting roles. They also produced numerous audio books for Gerth Medien and Brunnen Verlag ( John Eldredge ). Thereupon the publishing house Gerth Medien became aware of her for radio plays and in 2014 brought out two new stories of the 5 siblings , which had been invented in the 1980s by Dieter B. Kabus . The first episode " In the mysterious lighthouse " has since been sold over 10,000 times (as of spring 2016) and received attention in the press. Since 2015, three new episodes have been released each year, written by the author duo Tobias Schuffenhauer and Tobias Schier. Since 2019 the two crime radio plays for adults have been bringing out under the "Young & Grace" series.

Tobias Schuffenhauer presents each new radio play as part of a record release party - or a public listening.

Books and live readings

In 2016 the first two new stories by the 5 siblings were also published as books by Gerth Medien. More are announced for the summer. As part of the publication, the authors also plan to offer live readings. So they are at the community holiday festival Spring in Willingen in April 2016 and present the books there with a mixture of reading, live music and interactive elements.

As an audio book speaker, Schuffenhauer u. a. the book After the Amen pray further (SCM-Hänssler) by the late author Hans Peter Royer . He also lent his voice to the young mute author Raphael Müller for the book I fly with torn wings . He can also be heard as the main German speaker in the interactive APP Bible App for Kids . In the DVD production Patterns of Evidence he can also be heard as a speaker in the German version.

Singer and composer

As a singer, Tobias Schuffenhauer is represented in numerous children's productions, such as the series Einfach Spitze or in the choir Perspektiven . He also composed a Passion Oratorio for four-part choir at Easter 2014, which was premiered in the FeG Wetzlar Good Friday.
