Todd James Lasance (born February 18, 1985 in Newcastle , New South Wales ) is an Australian actor .

Life

Lasance was born in February 1985 to Robert and Jan Lasance in Newcastle , New South Wales . He grew up in Medowie with his older brother Chad before the family moved to near Newcastle. He first attended St. Philip's Christian College and then the Higher School Certificate. He then studied acting at Screenwise. In 2008 he returned there as a guest lecturer.

Lasance achieved national fame for his impersonation of the main character Aden Jefferies in the soap Home and Away . The role, which he initially took on as a supporting actor in August 2005, he played from 2007 to May 2010 and brought him a Logie Award in the category Silver Logie for Most Popular Actor in 2009 . In 2008 he had a small part in the film A Treasure to Fall in Love with . As Det. Sgt. Dean Thomas , he played a leading role in the 2011 TV movie Underbelly Files: Tell Them Lucifer Was Here .

He got international attention through the lead role of Julius Caesar in the third season of Spartacus . From October 2015 to May 2016, Lasance played a supporting role as Julian in the seventh season of the CW television series Vampire Diaries .
