Blue Water High is an Australian television series jointly developed and produced by KiKa , NDR , Southern Star and ABC . The episodes of the second and third seasons got no titles in Australia, but were only numbered from 1 to 26. Even the first season brought the series national and international success. In Germany only the first season was broadcast.

action

Each season follows the lives of a group of young students from Solar Blue , a surf school that enables seven sixteen year olds to complete a twelve month surf program on Sydney's northern beaches. The training is tough because everyone has to train two hours before and after school: light jogging and sprints in the sand, swimming, holding your breath and of course surfing. At the end of the year, one girl and one boy always receive a wild card, so they can go on the pro tour to Brazil. In order to be admitted to the final, which decides which two students get the wild card, they have to collect a total of 60 surf points. These consisted of the behavior and successes of the training and the results of the school, the Blue Water High . In the following two seasons, at least one member of the first season appeared or took a job as a leader.

First season

The first season is the only one that has been broadcast in Germany so far. The seven Solar Blue candidates were Matt, the intellectual and smart boy from King Iceland , Heath, the cool and casual in Melbourne , Edge, sometimes selfish boy from Melbourne Perri, the Surf model, Bec, talent. She is friendly but also has a big mouth at times. She is loyal and values honesty. She lives in the Blue Water High area. Anna is a former kiteboarder from Germany who was sent to Australia by Solar Blue to tackle her surfing start after an accident; Fly, the smallest in the team, is from Perth . She comes from a farm and doesn't have a lot of money. Other characters are Bec's brother Joe, who should actually also go to the academy, as well as Simmo and Deb, the trainers and directors of the academy. During the year several couples form: Anna and Joe, Bec and Edge, Perri and Matt and Heath and Fly. Fly returns in season two to finish school, in return she helps Simmo with the new candidates. The winners are Edge and Fly.

Second season

The second season has not yet been broadcast in Germany. The candidates are Corey (Trent Dalzell), Eric ( Ryan Corr ), Brooke ( Lesley Mitchell ), Rachel (Taryn Marler), Amy ( Gabrielle Scollay ) and Mike (James Sorensen). All "old" candidates of the first season except Anna appear again in the second season.

This season, Fiona “Fly” Watson takes on the role of Deb and trains the six teenagers with Simmo. Since the housekeeper Jilly is not due to come until a month later, Simmo asks Rebecca "Bec" Sanderson at short notice to take over Jilly's duties. But when she is invited to join a surf school, Simmo has to stick to the only option available at short notice: Heath Carroll. He takes on the role of "nanny" for a few weeks until Jilly comes back. He is later offered a new job that will take him to the Gold Coast, so Heath and Fly have to say goodbye again. In the 17th episode, Fly receives a visit from Dean "Edge" Edgly, the first season's Pro Tour winner. In the last two episodes Fly is visited by Perri, who is now pursuing a singing career, and Matt. Both, like Bec, Edge, Heath and Fly, are old graduates of the Solar Blue surf academy and fought for victory the previous year. The two winners are Brooke and Eric.

Third season

Filming for the third season began in October 2007. It has been broadcast in Australia since April 3, 2008. The candidates are Guy (Kain O'Keefe), Charley (Lachlan Buchanan), Adam (Eka Darville), Bridget ( Cariba Heine ), Loren (Amy Beckwith) and Cassie (Rebecca Breeds). In addition, Bec, who also played in the first two seasons, takes on the role of the new leader. So she takes over from Simmo, who headed the academy in the previous years and now wants to try something new. He had suggested Bec as his successor. Garry ( Craig Horner ) takes over from Fly and Deb . The third season winners are Bridget and Adam. But since Bridget wants to study, the wild card is passed on to one of the runner-up: Loren.
