Todd Smallie
Todd Smallie (born August 16, 1970 in St. Louis , Missouri ) is an American bass player. He lives in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Life
His musical career began in Atlanta, Georgia in the late 1980s. After training at the Atlanta Institute Of Music and playing with many musicians from the scene there, he became bassist in the Derek Trucks Band from 1994 . Since August 2010 he has also been the bassist with JJ Gray & Mofro .
While the Derek Trucks Band strives for the style of free improvisation, the focus at JJ Gray & Mofro is more on putting a perfect groove under each song.
