Todor Kableschkow
Todor Kableschkow ( Bulgarian Тодор Каблешков ; born January 13, 1851 in Kopriwschtiza , then Ottoman Empire , † June 16, 1876 near Gabrovo , now in Bulgaria ) was a Bulgarian revolutionary and freedom fighter .
Life
He was a graduate of the Galatasaray Imperial Elite School in the Ottoman capital Constantinople . Kableschkow was co-organizer and leader of the April uprising of 1876. By a letter written in blood to the Revolutionary Committee in Panagyurishte on April 20, 1876, the uprising was proclaimed 11 days earlier than originally agreed. Turkish troops put down the uprising. During the uprising, Kableschkow was captured. To avoid death by hanging, he killed himself .
Since 2011 he contributes in honor of Kableshkov Ridge in Antarctica Graham Land his name.
